From tumult comes our strength - innovation in 2022!

2021 was a rollercoaster year and extremely tumultuous emotionally for most of us. I believe many of our clients found it very difficult to separate personal life from work, as I have, and many have struggled with personal loss too.

Perhaps one day I will be able to master separating work from personal life, but this is certainly not the case right now. With my biggest fan - my father - passing away in 2021, something shifted inside of me. Grief is a strange thing and it makes you take a real hard look at your life, and all the facets of your place in the world. I have realised that time is the ultimate luxury that we have; how I use it, will be key to my future success.

In my professional life, My Beauty Luv had some great wins and some ridiculous challenges with the world still battling through a pandemic.

We won two awards this year

  • “Most Innovative Beauty Supplement Brand”- MEA Markets 2021 Business Award.
  • “Cosmetic Store of the Year” – Prestige Awards 2021/22 Winner.

I will be entering awards for next year that focus on luxury products within the beauty and health categories. Wish me luck!

What to expect from us in 2022

Next year, the wider world beyond South Africa will be introduced to My Beauty Luv. We have been in talks with various international distributors and have started the long and laborious task of gearing up to export. We will start to introduce products that are highly advanced, completely unique and, just like our beloved Face Blossom®, first-to-market in SA and dare I say, globally. 

We will also be launching another first ever in SA: a vegan-friendly beauty supplement that promotes fibroblast activity, thereby enhancing healthy collagen production in the skin. This product will also help skin cells produce hyaluronic acid and prevent skin damage caused by AGEs  and UV rays. And it’s not just for vegans – EVERYONE can and should take it!

In these products, you can expect ingredients that are still very unknown in the mass market, but making waves among those in the know. With my father as inspiration, I always want to be 10 steps ahead of the market and never be scared to launch with a smashing new product that is 5 years ahead of the pack. I believe this to be an integral part of the brand’s continued success and growth.

Quality over quantity is how it’s done

I have always followed my gut, my intuition. In the past, this was seen as rebellious and black sheep behaviour, but now it is my greatest strength. I believe in the importance of using quality over quantity and that our empowered customer base will continue to search out the best products. That loyal base grows daily as more women stand up for their health and wellness – no matter what the economy dictates.

Finally, it is my sincerest wish that no matter where or what your circumstance in life, you will strive to be the best version of yourself, and treasure and utilise the time you have on this earth. 2022 is another opportunity to go out and show the world what you’re made of. Let’s grab it with both hands.
